World-Renowned Mountaineer Nirmal Purja Dies in Broad Peak Avalanche

Kathmandu. World-renowned mountaineer Nirmal Purja 'Nims Dai', who established the slogan 'Nothing Is Impossible' in the field of adventurous mountaineering worldwide, has died in an avalanche on Pakistan's Broad Peak. The climbing company 'Elite Exped', which he founded, officially confirmed this on Saturday, leaving the entire mountaineering community in shock.

Purja's 10-member team, which he was leading, was caught in a massive avalanche that occurred on Thursday on Broad Peak, which is 8,047 meters high. In the same accident, Purja's reliable companions and guides, Pur Bahadur Gurung (Yukta) and Nima Sherpa, also died.
