Kathmandu. A study has shown that US families may face increased energy costs in the coming years due to the energy policies implemented during the second term of US President Donald Trump. According to an analysis by a non-partisan research institution, families living in the continental states of America are estimated to pay an additional $6,500 in energy costs on average by 2040. The study mentions that this amount may be even higher in some states. Families in Oregon, Mississippi, South Dakota, Virginia, and Wyoming are estimated to bear an additional energy cost of approximately $9,000 during that period.
According to the study, the Trump administration's reduction in government support for clean energy projects and changes in policies promoting electric vehicles and low-emission vehicles may increase the demand for natural gas and petrol. Researchers estimate that increased demand could also put pressure on energy and fuel prices.
