Koshi Province Government Prepares to Pass Language Bill Before Dashain

Biratnagar. The Koshi Province government has prepared to pass the much-discussed ‘Koshi Province Government Official Language Management Bill’ from the Provincial Assembly before the upcoming Dashain. Preparations are underway to pass the bill in this session after an understanding was reached between the ruling and main opposition parties to proceed by fully incorporating the recommendations of the Language Commission.

According to the spokesperson of the Provincial Government and Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Gombu Sherpa, the Provincial Assembly meeting will be called around October 11-12, immediately after the conclusion of the Nepali Congress's ongoing internal general assembly/conference. Preparations are being made to pass the language bill from that meeting. Earlier, the bill tabled by the government in the parliament was sent to the Social Development Committee for discussion.
