Gandaki Province Chief Minister Seeks Federal Aid for Flood Damage

Pokhara. Due to continuous rain, 30 people have died in Gandaki Province. Dozens of roads, bridges, schools, government buildings, and hundreds of private homes have been damaged. Gandaki Province Chief Minister Surendraraj Pandey has drawn the attention of the federal government to the damage caused by floods and landslides in Gandaki. He has appealed for rescue, relief, and reconstruction following the floods and landslides that occurred from Ashwin 9.
Pandey met separately with Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Sunil Lamsal and requested facilitation for disaster management and the resolution of long-term policy issues in the province. During the meeting, Chief Minister Pandey demanded budget management from the Ministry of Finance for the reconstruction of flood-affected districts in Gandaki, including Manang, Myagdi, Baglung, and Parbat.
