Flood and Landslide Recurrence Causes Distress in Yangwarak Rural Municipality

Panchthar. Local residents are forced to live in fear as floods and landslides have recurred in Ward No. 1 of Yangwarak Rural Municipality after a three-year interval. On Asar 3, 2080 BS, floods and landslides in this area caused significant damage to roads, bridges, suspension bridges, physical structures, houses, and sheds that had been in operation for years.
Floods in the Murunga, Mewaa, and Lambakhola rivers, along with landslides in hundreds of locations, caused extensive damage. During that time, Samarjung, Magardanda, Kopche, Kholaagari, Chok, Chamlingdanda, and Biruwa settlements were affected.
