Government Unveils Ambitious Plan to Tackle Kathmandu Valley's Urban Transport Crisis

Kathmandu. The government has put forward a comprehensive and ambitious blueprint to permanently solve the extreme traffic jams, air pollution, chaotic public transport, and serious risks to road safety plaguing the Kathmandu Valley.

The Ministry of Physical Planning and Works has made public the draft report of the Kathmandu Valley Urban Transport System Master Plan (KVUTSMP) and its Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), prepared with the technical assistance of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
