Jitiya Festival Concludes in Terai-Madhesh Region

The Jitiya festival, celebrated by women especially in the Terai-Madhesh region wishing for the long life, happiness, prosperity, and health of their children, has been formally concluded today. This festival, celebrated from the Ashtami to Navami of the Krishna Paksha in Ashwin, began on Friday.
Jitiya is also known as 'Jivitputrika Vrat'. According to religious and cultural beliefs, women observe a fast without food and water, wishing for the long life, health, and prosperity of their children. It is believed that observing the fast can protect children from suffering, pain, and various problems.
