South Korean Volunteer Team Assists Flood Victims in Nuwakot

During times of disaster, one community must support another. Perhaps there are no geographical or other barriers to human assistance; the heart is all that is needed. The work done by a volunteer team from South Korea in cleaning and restoring the homes of flood-affected people in Nuwakot has become a source of inspiration for the local community, carrying the message that human assistance should transcend geographical boundaries during disasters.
The eight-member Korean team, which arrived in Nepal last week, has been working like laborers for 10 days with permission to clean houses in the market area of Dhunge, Ward No. 1 of Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot. Posting a copy of the permit provided by Lenin Ranjit, Ward Chairman of Bidur-1, in front of the houses being cleaned, the team has been engaged in digging out mud, removing stones, and clearing broken beams and wood, disregarding the intense sun.
