Nationwide Highways and Road Sections Blocked Due to Heavy Rainfall, Floods, and Landslides

Kathmandu. Major highways and road sections across the country have been blocked due to continuous rainfall, floods, and landslides. The Nepal Police, in a report released by 6 AM on Monday, provided information about the condition of roads in various districts. In Koshi Province, the road connecting Ilam Municipality-9 Rajaduali on the Mechi Highway in Ilam, which connects Jhapa to Taplejung, is completely blocked, and an alternative route can be used. In various districts of Bagmati Province, roads are blocked and movement is restricted. In Kavre, on the BP Highway section Khurkot-Nepalethok-Katuñjebesi, considering potential floods, all vehicle operations are prohibited from 6 PM to 4 AM, and it has been stated that operations will resume during the day depending on the situation. In Makwanpur, on the Hetauda-Thingan-Bagmati-Lalitpur road section of Kantilokpath, due to potential floods and landslides, vehicle operations are prohibited during the night from 6 PM to 5 AM. In Rasuwa, the Trishuli Mailung Syaphrubesi road section in Khalte of Uttargaya Rural Municipality-5 has been completely blocked for a long time due to floods. In Nuwakot, on the Tokha Chhahare road section in Ghattethola of Shivapuri Rural Municipality-8, vehicles are prohibited from operating from 10 PM to 5 AM due to potential floods and landslides. Additionally, other main highways and the Pasang Lhamu road section in Nuwakot are also completely blocked due to floods. In Sindhupalchok, the Arniko Highway in Kodari of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-2 is completely blocked due to landslides. In Dhading, on the Prithvi Highway in Krishna Bhir of Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-7 and Parewa Bhir of Gajuri Rural Municipality-2, the road is completely shut down due to landslides. In Karnali Province, in the Jhyari Khola and Tokla areas of Chhayanath Rara Municipality-7 in Mugu, the road section connecting Nagma to Mugu Gamgadhi is completely blocked due to landslides. Efforts are underway to clear the blocked roads, and the police have requested travelers to exercise extreme caution while journeying.
