With announcement of election date, ruling alliance begins preparations for seat sharing

KATHMANDU, Aug 5: The government on Thursday announced to hold the general elections on November 20 later this year. With the announcement of the date, the ruling alliance – Nepali Congress (NC), CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) and Rastriya Janamorcha Party – have begun preparations for seat sharing.

The ruling alliance is all set to form a task force and strategy for seat sharing during the election. The alliance had also competed in the local level election held earlier this year jointly.
