Bagmati Province Chief Minister Highlights Support for Marginalized Communities

Kathmandu. Bagmati Province Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniyan has stated that the provincial government is working with special priority for the upliftment of indigenous, marginalized, and disadvantaged communities.

He said this while addressing the second national conference of the Nepal Democratic Indigenous Peoples' Federation. Chief Minister Baniyan discussed the great sacrifice of the indigenous peoples' community in Nepal's democratic movement and the struggle to achieve federal republicanism. He recalled the contributions of warriors like Ganeshman Singh, Bhim Bahadur Tamang, and Bakhan Singh Gurung, who were iron men in the history of the Nepali Congress, and claimed that the Congress has always been a party that fights for the existence and identity of indigenous peoples.
