Election Commission receives only two requests from abroad for poll observation

The number of organisations willing to monitor Nepal’s elections has been declining gradually.

Only two international observers have shown their interest to monitor the snap polls slated for March 5. The Carter Centre and Japanese Embassy in Nepal have applied to observe the polls, according to the commission officials. The Carter Centre, which had long been monitoring Nepal’s election, did not show interest in the previous elections. It has returned this time.
