Private sector calls for law to engage in power trade

Currently, only Nepal Electricity Authority has the permission to trade power as per Section 20 of the Nepal Electricity Act-1984.
Nepal’s private sector power developers have asked the government to introduce an ordinance to allow them to buy and sell electricity in Nepal and abroad, as the country currently lacks a law for the same.
