Recurrent violence plagues Nepal’s juvenile correction centres

Watchdog says these homes resemble prisons, lack basic amenities and are overcrowded.

At least 60 inmates fled the Jayandu Juvenile Correction Centre in Duduwa Rural Municipality of Banke district following a violent clash among themselves on Monday evening. The police managed to capture all but two absconders who are believed to have crossed over to India.
