Turkey Expects Egypt to Join Joint Defense Pact with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan

Kathmandu. Turkey expects Egypt to participate in the joint defense agreement made with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan with the aim of maintaining regional stability. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan expressed confidence on Saturday that Egypt, calling it a natural partner in all matters, would also participate in the agreement in the next phase.

Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan had signed the 'Mecca Joint Defense Agreement' on Friday. According to the agreement, an attack on one member state will be considered an attack on all member states. Pakistan's Foreign Ministry stated that its objective is to strengthen the collective resistance capability among the three countries.
