Bhutanese refugee leader Bhampa Rai passes away

Dr Bhampa Rai, a Bhutanese refugee leader who lived in Damak, Jhapa, died. He died at Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar at 2:40 a.m. on Sunday. He was 75 years old at the time.

He has been at the forefront of the repatriation of Bhutanese refugees for the past 30 years. Rai was suffering from stomach disease and had surgery for a hernia five days ago.
