China vows ‘resolute, effective’ response to high-level US meeting with Taiwan’s President

BEIJING: The Chinese Foreign Ministry condemned the meeting between Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen and US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy in California and vowed that China will take “resolute and effective measures to safeguard national sovereignty,” according to the official statement.
