CPN UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel Expresses Dissatisfaction Over Singha Durbar Name Change Debate

Kathmandu. CPN UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has expressed dissatisfaction over the ongoing debate about changing the name of Singha Durbar. Hari Dhakal, a Member of Parliament from the ruling party Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), had stated that the name of Singha Durbar should be changed.

Countering this, UML General Secretary Pokharel stated that there is a serious meaning behind why our ancestors adorned the main structure of the state and monasteries with lions, considering them symbols of power and guardians.
