Sustainable banking is introduced in Nepal also. How does it work anyway?

Sustainable banking is a novel term in Nepal. Despite efforts by a few financial intuitions, the term has often been lost in the country’s capitalist sector which is in a race to make more profit than its competitors.
However, there have been some efforts to make the country’s banking sector sustainable. Some banks have also taken initiatives. Nabil Bank , for example, through various initiatives and partnerships, has been trying to support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The bank has invested significantly in the agriculture sector and has run different urban and rural entrepreneurship programmes. The bank is also a member of the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) and measures carbon emissions in the projects it has financed over the years.
