Foreign medical students come to Nepal but twice as many Nepalis pursue medicine abroad

MBBS enrolment by foreign students has risen by 35 percent in three years, yet 80 percent undergraduate seats reserved for them went unfilled last year.

Nepal is attracting a growing number of foreign students to its medical colleges, particularly for MBBS and postgraduate programmes, even as thousands of Nepali students continue to leave the country to study medicine.
