UK Rapper Sentenced to 12 Years for Fatal Hit-and-Run Involving Nepali Student

The British rapper Ghetts, whose real name is Justin Clarke-Samuel, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for the 'hit and run' accident in London that killed 20-year-old Nepali student Yubin Tamang. The Old Bailey court in London, while delivering the verdict, also banned him from driving for the next 17 years along with the prison sentence.

According to the details of the incident, on the evening of October 18, 2025, Yubin was crossing the road at Redbridge Lane East in Ilford, Northeast London, when he was struck by a speeding BMW car driven by Clarke-Samuel. After the collision, he fled the scene without stopping. Yubin, who was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, died two days later during treatment.
