One of the IMF’s conditions for approving $396 million credit facility is that central bank and its personnel’s autonomy should be strengthened further.
The suspension of Nepal Rastra Bank governor Maha Prasad Adhikari last week has raised questions about the government’s commitment to the autonomy of the central bank as well as its pledge to the donor community.
