Janakpurdham Transport Office Resumes Driving License Exams After Server Issues

The transport management office under the Madhesh Province government in Janakpur has started conducting written and practical examinations for those obtaining new driving licenses after a month. The transport management office issued a public notice on Wednesday, calling on those who filled out the online form and paid the revenue to participate in the written and practical examinations. The office has scheduled the written examination for today (Thursday) and the practical examination for tomorrow (Friday). The office stated that it will only conduct written and practical examinations for those who have filled out the form for 'A' and 'K' categories of driving licenses. Senior Branch Officer of the office, Chandeshwor Sah, said that separate notices will be issued later for other categories. According to Sah, although the work related to large and small vehicles has improved after the server update, problems have arisen regarding driving licenses. He said, 'Although some problems related to driving license work have been partially resolved, some issues remain. We have raised this issue in a Zoom meeting with the department. They are focused on resolving the problems.' In the updated new system, OTP is still not being received, and if one tries to get an 'A' category license, it shows as a 'B' or 'C' category. Acting Chief Sah said that it will be known how much this system has worked only after the practical examination. He also mentioned that problems are arising in the renewal of old driving licenses. 85 people have participated in the examination. The office has clarified that examinees must bring their admit card, original citizenship certificate, and driving license in case of category addition, and must arrange their own vehicle for the practical examination. Earlier, the work of new driving licenses and renewals was halted from Asar 29 due to the breakdown of the Transport Management Department's server. All work from here was stopped because the work had to be done from the department's server, and the department's server had to be updated with new data. Due to the halt in work including driving license and renewal, hundreds of service recipients were forced to come to the office daily and return.
