280 Bodies Managed After Bhote Koshi Flood, DNA Samples Collected

Chitwan. After the severe flood in the Bhote Koshi river in Rasuwa, 280 bodies found in the coastal areas of the Trishuli and Narayani rivers have been managed in a safe manner at the management site in Devghat, Chitwan, after forensic examination and DNA sample collection.

According to Bharatpur Hospital spokesperson Dr. Ramprasad Sapkota, security personnel had collected bodies from the Trishuli river since the night of Bhadra 10 and brought them to the hospital for preservation. From the morning of Bhadra 11, a medical team led by forensic experts was mobilized to start the work of forensic examination, DNA and other biological sample collection, and documentation necessary for body identification.
