Hearing of writ petition accusing PM Dahal of murdering 5,000 people today

KATHMANDU, March 9: A writ petition filed against Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal accusing him of being responsible for the deaths of 5,000 people during the Maoist insurgency is set to be heard on Thursday. The Prime Minister, during a Mahi event held at Tudikhel in Kathmandu on 2076 Magh 1, had taken responsibility for the deaths of these people, which has led to demands for his arrest and legal action by the relatives of the victims.

The CPN (Maoist Center) has objected to the apex court's decision to allow the filing of a case against PM Dahal, arguing that it is against the comprehensive peace agreement. Despite this, the hearing is set to go ahead as scheduled.
