US Court Awards $29 Million in Damages to Family of UN Employee Killed in Boeing 737 MAX Crash

Washington DC. The family of Irish citizen and United Nations employee Michael 'Mick' Ryan, who died in the 2019 Boeing 737 MAX plane crash in Ethiopia, has been awarded $29 million in damages by a US court.

A jury in Chicago, USA, ruled in favor of Ryan's family, awarding compensation amounting to that sum. The jury delivered this verdict in a civil lawsuit filed by Ryan's wife, Naoise Connolly Ryan, against aircraft manufacturer Boeing.
