Government directs agencies to guard financial institutions

The home ministry issued a circular instructing any untoward events to be halted, following incidents of those involved in banking crimes threatening the financial institutions instead of paying the money they owed came to light.

The government on Friday issued a circular to the security agencies to make special arrangements to provide security for banks, microfinance and cooperatives across the country, following troubles hundreds of microfinance borrowers were facing due to exuberant interest rates.
