Eight Skiers Confirmed Dead in Massive Avalanche Near Lake Tahoe, California

Washington D.C. Eight skiers have been confirmed dead in a massive avalanche that struck the Castle Peak area near Lake Tahoe, California. Fifteen people were reported missing after an avalanche the size of a 'football field' occurred around 11:30 AM on Tuesday.

Nevada County Sheriff Shannon Moon informed that the search and rescue team found the bodies of eight people in the remote terrain of the Lake Tahoe area by Wednesday. It is reported that one person is still missing and is presumed dead.
