Jajarkot. Police have arrested five people on charges of murder by beating in Jajarkot. According to a press release issued by the District Police Office Jajarkot, 32-year-old Deepak Kumar Thapa, a resident of Narayan Municipality, Dailekh, who was living in Jagatipur, Bheri Municipality-11, Jajarkot, and running a medicine shop, died during treatment after being seriously injured in a beating.
On the evening of Shrawan 25, at around 21:00, Thapa was beaten with fists by a group including 33-year-old Birendra Khatri, a resident of Bheri Municipality-8, at a location in Nuwagaun, Bheri Municipality-10. Thapa, who was injured in the beating, was taken to Mission Hospital Chaurjahari, Rukum Paschim, for treatment. After receiving basic treatment there, he was taken to Care City Hospital, Nepalgunj, for further treatment, where he died on Shrawan 28 at 01:20 AM during treatment, the police said. Police arrested 33-year-old Birendra Khatri of Bheri Municipality-8, 21-year-old Niraj Rokaya of Ward No. 9, 21-year-old Shishir Yogi Gosai of the same ward, 24-year-old Laxman Rokaya, and 28-year-old Binod Gosai on Shrawan 29 on suspicion of involvement in the incident.
