Kiran Thapa Claims Majority for Bagmati Province Chief Minister Position

Hetauda. CPN UML lawmaker Kiran Thapa has staked a claim for the Chief Ministership of Bagmati Province with a majority. He has claimed the government with the support of 63 provincial assembly members.

He staked his claim before Province Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota on Wednesday. Although the claim for government formation under Article 168 (2) of the Nepal Constitution was made with the signatures of the leaders of the parliamentary parties of 3 parties, his appointment and oath-taking will only take place on Thursday. Province Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota has not advanced the appointment process immediately, citing legal disputes.
