German Ambassador pays courtesy call on Minister Ghising

Kathmandu, Oct 15: German Ambassador to Nepal, Udo Eugen Volz, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Kulman Ghising today. In the meeting held in the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation at Singha Durbar, Ambassador Volz congratulated Minister Ghising and wished him a successful tenure. During the meeting, the two discussed Nepal-Germany cooperation and deliberated on various ongoing projects being run in Nepal in the financial assistance of Germany, including solar power project and the Lekhnath-Damauli 220 KV transmission line. Their talk also touched on expanding assistance in Nepal's energy transformation.

Similarly, Minister Ghising acknowledged Germany's enduring support to Nepal and urged to consider increasing the assistance. He said the Madhya-Marsyangdi and Marsyangdi hydro power projects built with the support of Germany were 'life-line' to Nepal's energy sector.
