After the Wall Street Journal claimed that the location of a new $17 billion chip facility in the United States will be Taylor, Texas, South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics confirmed on Tuesday that it had not made a final choice. According to the Wall Street Journal, Texas Governor Greg Abbott will deliver a "economy statement" on Tuesday at 5 p.m. (4:30am).
According to Reuters, a location in Williamson County, Texas, near the city of Taylor, had the greatest incentives package of the places Samsung was evaluating. The world's largest memory chipmaker has announced it is also examining Arizona and New York as potential locations.
