Province 1 assembly endorses Koshi as the name of the province by majority votes

Of Nepal’s seven provinces, it was the last to be named. In the 93-strong assembly, 82 voted in favour of the new nomenclature.

Province 1 has officially adopted Koshi as its new name. A meeting of the provincial assembly on Wednesday approved the new name.
