Minister Kharel honoured with 'Hari Prasad Kalyani Rimal Sanchar Puraskar'

Kathmandu, Oct 16: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagadish Kharel, has been honoured with the 'Hari Prasad Kalyani Rimal Sanchar Sewa Puraskar (Award)'. The award was conferred on Minister Kharel at a programme organised by the Hari Prasad Kalyani Rimal Drama and Music Academy at Jamal-based National Cultural Undertaking today. On the occasion, Academy Chairperson Prof Dr Basudev Tripathi honoured Minister Kharel with a shawl, copper plaque and cash.

The award was presented to Minister Kharel for his true advocacy for the people, and voicing for the country and people, especially through television journalism. Similarly, singers Mira Rana and Dhiraj Rai have also been honoured with the 'Hari Prasad Kalyani Rimal Special Drama and Music Award'. The award, established in the name of first singer of Radio Nepal, actor late Hari Prasad Rimal and his wife Kalyani Rimal, is presented to different individuals for their significant contribution in music, drama and media sector.
