Valley has run out of intensive care beds and ventilators for Covid-19 patients

Even if the facilities are added, they will not be able to keep up with the growing number of cases, which will mean seriously ill patients won’t get the support they need, officials say.

Every morning, Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari of the Ministry of Health gets dozens of phone calls from lawmakers and others asking him to arrange for beds in intensive care units and ventilator support at Covid-19 designated hospitals for those close to them.
