18- Locusts found in Lalbandi

Sarlahi, June 27 (RSS): The locusts have entered Lalbandi in the district. They were found in the farm of Oil Seeds Research Centre of Lalbandi Municipality-2 today. Swarm of some 1,000 locusts was spotted in the farm, said officiating chief of Agriculture Knowledge Centre, Devanand Ray Yadav.
“While visiting the field this morning, the vermin was eating various crops including rice seedlings and peanut,” said senior scientist at Centre, Dr Bisheshor Prasad Yadav, adding that the grasshopper like insect might have entered Nepal via India Friday night.
