A lesson on why art should be accessible to all

Through their latest exhibition, Movement-Restriction-Space, Kaalo.101 makes a thoughtful attempt to bring art closer to the public; however, it’s dependency on technology deters it from achieving its mission.

The stage for Kaalo.101’s latest exhibition ‘Movement-Restriction-Space’ is not in its usual Patan building. The artworks are not put up on clean walls, inside rooms where you have to take off your shoes to enter. This time, the works are placed under the Thapathali bridge, on dusty walls next to the grimy, smelly Bagmati river.
