Chitwan Firms Avail Tax Amnesty Under Economic Act 2083

Chitwan. After the government issued the 'Economic Act 2083', two thousand nine hundred six firms have so far taken the exemption facility in the district. The Act has made a provision to waive the remaining interest, penalty, and late fees if one percent of the outstanding tax, value added tax, and excise duty is paid. With the issuance of the Act, revenue has also increased as the process of paying outstanding dues has begun.

The opportunity has been given by the government for once to taxpayers who have had outstanding tax for a long time and could not pay and were unable to move forward with their business, said Punyabikram Khadka, chief of the Inland Revenue Office. According to him, this facility can be availed for outstanding tax of any kind. He said, "Take this as an opportunity and avail the tax exemption facility." He urged not to miss the opportunity that may not come again.
