The man lay in the grass for a long time, soaking in the sun and feeling the breeze.
The air was thick and humid, enveloping the city like a wet blanket. The only sound was the intermittent buzzing of a fly as the sun beat mercilessly down. The man sat with his head in his hands on the veranda of his modest home. He had been sitting there motionless for hours. He felt as though he were suffocating.
