Government to Provide Free Treatment for Flood Victims

Kathmandu. The government will provide free treatment to those injured in the Bhote Koshi flood. Minister of Education and government spokesperson Sasmita Pokharel informed about the decisions made in the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday. According to Minister Pokharel, the Ministry of Health, the Nepali Army, and government hospitals have made arrangements for the free health treatment of the injured. The meeting also directed the Ministry of Home Affairs to immediately rescue and relocate the injured and displaced to safe places. The government has also decided to use helicopters from the Nepali Army and private sectors for this purpose. The meeting has instructed the Home Minister to use all means, including helicopters, for rescue operations. The government has stated that the Ministry of Home Affairs, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, and the relevant management committees will arrange for those who have lost their homes. The Ministry will arrange for roads and drinking water disrupted by the flood, the Ministry of Energy and the Electricity Authority will arrange for the restoration of electricity supply, and the government has also decided to provide compensation according to the law to the families of those who lost their lives in the incident.
