UN Secretary-General Expresses Sorrow Over Flood Casualties in Nepal and China

Kathmandu. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed sorrow over the loss of life and property due to severe floods in Nepal and China on Wednesday. The Secretary-General expressed sorrow over the deaths of many people, the disappearance of people, and the extensive damage caused by the severe floods, according to a statement issued by his spokesperson.

He expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. The Secretary-General also expressed solidarity with all those affected by the floods. The United Nations is assisting the government-led response, including assessing the level of disaster impact and providing immediate necessary assistance in Nepal, the statement said.
