Bagarphant village at risk of inundation

Kathmandu - The Bagarphant village is at risk of being inundated after the Myagdi river washed away the gabion wall put to check flood water from reaching the village. Some 200 households in the village at ward no. 2 of Beni municipality have been pushed to the brink of displacement.
According to the river control users committee chair Narayan Bahadur Karki, 38 of the 470 mesh wire blocks put up in the river bank have been washed away by flood water on Thursday night. As a result, the river is now headed towards the settlement with Khaharekhola, Ghanseghar, Palance and other areas falling under high risk of inundation.
