Only One Woman Elected Among 18 Female Candidates in Sudurpashchim Federal Polls

Dhangadhi. Only one woman has won among the 18 female candidates who contested the elections for the House of Representatives under the first-past-the-post system in Sudurpashchim Province. Eighteen women, including two independent candidates, competed in 16 constituencies across the nine districts of Sudurpashchim.

According to the election results, Komal Gyawali of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) was the only one elected, securing victory from Kailali Constituency No. 1. She registered her win by obtaining 17,826 votes.
