Nepali Politician Rabindra Mishra Steps Away from Party Politics to Focus on Monarchist Cause

Kathmandu. Leader Rabindra Mishra has decided to temporarily step away from partisan politics. Mishra, who faced defeat for the third consecutive time in the elections, defended his recent move through a clarification, stating that some colleagues and well-wishers were saddened by his decision.

He signaled that he is adopting a new strategy to further strengthen the cause of monarchy restoration from outside the confines of party discipline. Mishra reiterated his stance that the monarchy must be given a place within the democratic framework for the long-term interest of the nation, claiming that the slogan of good governance alone cannot sustain the current complex geopolitical and internal situation. He commented that while the restoration of the monarchy was the main foundation of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), the party leadership alone was not seen as sufficient to establish that cause.
