Vegetable prices fluctuate up to 200 percent in a month amid elections

Commerce Department report finds sharp swings in prices of cauliflower, broccoli and other produce despite stable supply conditions.

The retail prices of several vegetables, including cauliflower, broccoli, broad mustard leaf, coriander and hybrid cucumber, fluctuated by as much as 200 percent in the one-month period between mid-January and mid-February, just weeks before the elections.
