Kathmandu. Nepali Congress leader Gopal Man Shrestha has advised party President Gagan Kumar Thapa not to resign. Targeting the criticism and calls for resignation following the party's less-than-expected results in the House of Representatives elections, Shrestha clarified that resigning or demanding a resignation at this difficult juncture would not be in the interest of either the party or the nation.

Addressing President Thapa via social media, leader Shrestha stated that safeguarding democracy, strengthening the rule of law, and ending political instability are the main concerns for the Congress, rather than just the election results.
