Israeli Military Court Drops Charges Against Soldiers Accused of Sexual Abuse of Palestinian Prisoner

The Israeli military court has dismissed all charges against five soldiers accused of severe sexual abuse against a Palestinian prisoner at the Sde Teiman military jail in July 2024. Senior military law officials cleared the soldiers allegedly involved in the incident.

The incident drew international condemnation against the Israeli military after video footage was made public. The CCTV footage showed soldiers surrounding and beating the prisoner, and assaulting his genitals with a sharp object, which caused severe intestinal injury requiring hospitalization.
