Samsung Tops Global Smartphone Shipments in Q3; Apple Top Earner in Q2 2021

According to research companies, Samsung led worldwide smartphone sales in the third quarter of 2021, while Apple earned the most operating profits in the second quarter of 2021. Despite a 6% drop in worldwide smartphone sales in Q3 2021 compared to the same quarter last year, Samsung maintained a 23 percent market share in both quarters, followed by Apple, which gained 3% market share over the period, according to one of the reports.
The other claimed that, while not leading in smartphone sales, Apple made up 75% of the whole smartphone market's operational profit in Q2. According to Canalys, Samsung was still the king of worldwide smartphone shipments in the third quarter of 2021, with a 23 percent market share. It has the same market share in the second quarter of 2020, as previously stated. Due to component shortages, the worldwide smartphone market shrank by 6%, according to the research. Apple, on the other hand, boosted its market share of smartphone shipments from 12% to 15% year over year. Xiaomi came in second with a 14 percent market share, which remained unchanged from the previous quarter.
