Ibrahima Cheikh Diong is the Executive Director of the Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage (FRLD). With over 30 years of leadership experience across Africa, the USA, Europe and Asia, he has held senior roles in government, finance, and international organisations. Previously, he served as UN Assistant Secretary-General and Director General of the African Risk Capacity (ARC) Group. He has also been Senegal’s Minister and Special Adviser to the President, held leadership roles at the World Bank, BNP Paribas, and Booz Allen amilton, and founded ACT Afrique Group. Indira Aryal,a reporter with this daily, spoke with Ibrahima Cheikh Diong about the mandate and mission of the Fund for responding to loss and damage and how developing countries like Nepal can access it more easily.
