13 civilians, including 6 children, killed following US raid in Syria

WASHINGTON: FEB. 3 – US special operations forces conducted a large-scale counterterrorism raid in northwestern Syria overnight Thursday, in what the Pentagon said was a “successful mission.” Residents and activists reported multiple deaths — including civilians — from the attack.

The Syrian Civil Defence said that at least 13 people were killed, including six children, in shelling and clashes after the raid in northwestern Syria near Atmeh on the Turkish-Syrian border, according to a Reuters report.
